The Wikipedia entry for Electoral College reminds us that the fateful 2000 election was stolen by Bush despite the majority popular vote that went to Gore. "Candidates can fail to get the most votes in the nationwide popular vote in a presidential election and still win that election. This occurred in 1876, 1888 and 2000."

I'm watching CNN at 10:51 pm broadcasting a live Obama speech. This is being hailed as "Breaking News". Why is Obama making a speech considered breaking news? It's a great speech and I'm enjoying it, but why is this "breaking news"? I'm stunned. Did he pay for this?
